Bringing the Beauty Inside

Yesterday was one of those rare relaxed days around the house. I took a few minutes to cut some of the flowers from my snowball bush to bring into the house for us all to enjoy.

I simply cut the flowers and placed them into a soaked florist square that I purchased at the local Walmart.

The container is one of my favorite ones to use. It is a McCoy vase that I purchased years ago at an auction for a song.

I put the arrangement in the sunroom at first, but then decided that I wanted to keep it on the kitchen table since that is where I spend most of my time.

Bringing flowers in is an inexpensive way to enjoy the beauty of nature that is all around us. It only takes a few minutes and they can be enjoyed for days.

I don't know why I usually wait to do this when I have company coming. It really makes every day feel special. So why has no one else in my family even noticed them sitting on the table?

Simply beautiful - both the flowers and the vase! A bouquet of flowers just has a way of lifting one's spirits - even if no one else notices!

That is beautiful. The blooms look perfect in that vase. The colors are simple but very elegant.

I love those! I have a very small one that I transplanted down the hill to be closer to me so I could enjoy it! The vase is perfect for it too. It is crazy how we do such things for company, eating off of good dishes, flowers, so many pretty things that we should do just for us! Well, we are having a lot of storms here this morning so I will be unable to read your other posts. We are having quite a bit of lightening, hopefully no tornadoes, but they say there is a chance. So, let me get off of this computer now, which is a big bummer, cause when it is raining that is when I am on since I can't be outside!!!
Thanks for all of your lovely comments too, they mean a lot!
Take Care!

I love to cut flowers in Spring and bring them inside ... the garden produces in such quantity then that taking a few for myself doesn't seem to selfish. I never seem to get them quite as well arranged as yours though.

The family probably noticed but just didn't say anything. The hydrangea flowers are beautiful.

Happy Birthday to your hubby, your lettuce is beautiful.. I'm enjoying my mesclun mix this week, already had about 3 salads with the little leaves :-) I love your hydrangeas, I so want to get a bush, Lowes have reduced them this week so I might go get a couple. I'd love to be able to cut them and put them in a vase some day too.
Happy Sunday.

Love the flowers and vase. That view is breathtaking though! Don't feel bad, I got the same here. Bring in flowers and no one notices. Bring in dog poop on my shoe and everyone is like "what's that smell?"

Beautiful! But I am a bit jealous... we have snowball bushes, but they are REAL snow on bushes that still do not have leaves yet. :) We just got another foot of snow.
I enjoy seeing the beauty you share!
