Hot, Hot, Hot!

I spent a little time today looking back on some of my winter and spring posts. Those days seem so far away now. After an unusually cold winter and spring, our days have turned extremely hot! We have had temperatures in the middle to upper nineties for well over a week now. Needless to say, I have had a hard time getting excited about gardening and yard work in this hot, humid weather. We have actually had quite a few appointments this week, so I have had an excuse to not spend too much time outside. (One drawback to living in the country is the driving distance to doctors, dentists, and such. One appointment may take a good part of the day for travel.) However, we have found some time for a little summer fun.

Nothing beats the heat better than taking a dip in a cool pool. (Thanks Mark and Robin for letting us use your pool!)

Even the little neighborhood doggie knows where to go to cool off.

When the temperatures are this hot, we save most of our outside activities for the evening when sun is going down. Harvesting veggies has to be done either early in the morning or late in the evening. I guess I'll have to find some indoor activities to post about until we get a break from this hot, hot, weather! Wishing you a cool weekend!

At least it wasn't as humid today! Still, so hot and no end in sight.

Here in Idaho it hasn't gotten real hot yet. A very mild spring....The pool looks refreshing. Thanks for all your kind comments when I post to Beyond A Garden. I couldn't find a email for you to respond.

Just stopping by and thought I'd leave a comment, hope you don't mind.

I think it's hot everywhere! It was really hot here today too! We had some work done around our pool area and I felt so bad for the 2 guys doing the work. I kept going to McDonalds to get them ice cold cokes!

When it's extremely hot outside, sometimes nothing makes the situation any better except a nice dip in the pool! A beautiful crystal blue pool can be so inviting can't it!

Have a great weekend!

Isn't it the truth about the heat! We finally got a/c up and running last week, thank goodness. I can handle the hot and dry especially after living in Arizona, but the humidity can be horrible!! What big town did you live outside of? We used to be country, but everything has moved our way so I'm thankful for trees by the highway!!
It's nice to know someone with a pool!! That would definitely make for a good day.
Well, gotta run. I want to start on some things outside before the heat of the day, and I'm a little late making breakfast!
Take Care!

Ahhhhh, the pool looks fantastic! Temps are in the 70s here - which is great, because we try to fit a lot of outdoor projects into 4 months before winter returns.
Stay cool, dear friend!!!

Looks like you were having some fun that beat the heat and humidity!
I don't mind the heat it's the humidity that really bothers me!
Don't you love harvesting veggies in the early morning or evening!
Keep cool!

Isn't it hot, though? My goodness, what is July or August going to be like at this rate? You brought back memories of picking veggies on my family farm. We would pick at the crack of dawn and in the evening except for the tomatoes - we had to pick those in the morning and then again in mid-afternoon. It was miserable so we would go jump in the pond to cool off - along with the cows! Thanks for bringing back those memories!

It seems that we went from cold to hot overnight. Now, big thunderstorms. But the garden is lovely. We have air conditioning. I'm satisfied! Anytime there's no snow and ice is good!

The girls (and puppy) look cool and happy!

Best,
Bonnie

It's so hot here too. Last year people complained because we never got really hot weather. Well, I hope they are happy this year:)

I love seeing your garden and your home is gorgeous! Yes, I highly recommend lemoncello for both its cooling effect and its ability to make the garden look more manageable!
