A Beautiful Porch and Garden

Yesterday I posted about a whimsical garden; not quite my style, but very pretty. Today I actually get to post about the porch and side garden of a friend. I did not know that her house was on the tour, so I was pleasantly surprised to see her. Her house is a beautiful old home in Cheraw. It is painted a lovely color of blue. Only her porches and side garden were on tour. They were beautiful.

This is the little side garden. Isn't it so nice?

Who wouldn't want to sit down and visit a while?

The sun porch is so beautiful. I think I would have to take my breakfast in this room each morning.

The front porch was very inviting. See the pretty color of blue on the siding?

The lady that lives here is every bit as lovely as her porches and garden.

I love that porches were included in the tour. To me, they are a big part of living here in the south. I was able to take away some great ideas for my own porch.

What a lovely house and garden. I love that shade of blue for a house, and the green in the sunroom too.

I really like that color blue on her house. The porches do look very inviting. Hopefully we are redoing our front porch this summer. These pics are giving me lots of inspiration!

I agree, I would probably enjoy all my meals on the porch in warm weather. I would love to sit there are read too.

Yes this is much more my cup of tea and I do love the timber home and colours. We call our open porches verandahs and the built in ones sunrooms if they are on the sunny side and sleep-outs on the not so sunny side because they have generally been enclosed to make extra bedrooms as the family grows.
