Thank God for Beautiful Music

Today, as I was thinking of all of the things that I am thankful for, music came to my mind. I am thankful for the blessing of music in my home. John and I both have a love for music, although our tastes sometimes differs. This love has been instilled into both of our girls, who have their own musical preferences. Thankfully, we all accept each other's opinions and tastes and enjoy many different melodies in our home.

Although Carson takes lessons in bluegrass, she prefers country.

Catie prefers to play the piano and enjoys more alternative styles of music.

Even though she enjoys the alternative style, she does manage to play a few classical tunes for her mom.

John loves all kinds of music, but the tunes he loves the best are the ones that Catie and Carson play for him.

I can't imagine a single day without some kind of music drifting through the air in our home. Do you enjoy playing music in your home, or do you prefer quietness?

Music expresses who we are, transforms us, and feeds our souls. What a blessing to have some much variety in your family! I love it that God inhabits the praises of His people. Sing on! K

Definitely music love in our home! What a sweet grand (is it "baby grand") piano. One of my dreams is to have a baby grand and room to put it in!

Kristen has been playing piano for 2 years now, right now it's not something she likes to do but something we 'make' her do :( I hope one day she will appreciate it and enjoy the talent she has too :)
Hubby plays guitar and I used to play piano on school but haven't done for years.

Your girls are so pretty!

My husband plays both guitar and banjo and I love it when he practices, especially when he sings along.

Music is a big part of our lives.

My son played the accordeon for years and I loved it! And my eldest daughter played the piano, but that, too, is a thing of the past. Now it's my third child who's playing the violin. She was having trouble the other day and getting very frustrated, so I sat down at the piano and said.. "Come on, let's do it together."

Her attitude completely changed, and she has now mastered the tune. I thought all week about how easy it had been for me to take a few minutes and play with her, and how much it had changed her outlook. It was a lesson for me in love. And now I have beautiful violin music floating through the house! :)

I love both quietness and good music - depending on my mood, I guess. It's a bonus that your daughters are themselves music-makers. You must be so proud of them!

I almost always have good music playing in the car.

In many ways I prefer quiet rather than music. However, when I find the time to play the piano I find it extremely relaxing. I am so glad my Mum and Dad made the sacrifice to enable me to have lessons. It is such a gift to a child.

i feel exactly the same way! one of the Lord's sweetest
gifts to me is giving me children who love music as i do.

one day my 26 year old sent me a song from itunes that
made me weep for an hour. that he knew how much i
would love it meant so much.
