As the clock struck twelve, saying goodbye to Christmas day, there was a cold, light rain falling here in southeastern North Carolina. Our hopes of a white Christmas faded away as we snuggled warmly in our beds. Little did we know that while we were sleeping God was busy with plans of his own. The morning light dawned on a landscape beautifully covered in snow. Now, I know that for some of you that is not a very big deal, however, when you live where I do snow is a welcomed sight...especially this close to Christmas Day. Although I love sitting in the sun room watching the snow gently fall, I couldn't resist venturing outside for just a few pictures this morning. Enjoy!
I just love the beautiful view from my front porch.
The barren branches look lovely when dressed with snow.
Do you think the birds would like to bathe in this?
It does come with a water view.
The pine warblers were especially grateful for their breakfast.
The little chick a dee preferred to take his with him.
I think that they all look pretty sitting in the American holly.
The little junco just had to be different!
My porch decorations were much prettier with a little help from above.
The snow may not have come on Christmas Day, but it wasn't far off! I pray that Christmas brought joy, peace, and God's blessings to all.

Oh, Carla, you live on a bit of heaven on earth! Your view and photographs are spectacular! Your bird photos in the holly berries should be postcards! Enjoy your beautiful landscape! Stay warm and safe, Donna
Such pretty pictures. Love the little yellow bird. Hope your Christmas was wonderful and happy new year!

We got snow too! At least 6". Not a white Christmas but very close!
I have so enjoyed your walk in the snow ... the landscape it totally transformed. I'm glad you had this beauty to savour even if a day late.
Beautiful! Beautiful! All of these snow scenes would make beautiful greeting cards! I especially like the view from your front porch, and of course, the birds just add a special touch to any snow pic!
Happy New Year!
I would love to see snow at Christmas time again... we don't see it much at all here in Central TX. Love the pics of the birds:) Hope you've had a wonderful Christmas.xxx
Beautiful pictures! I love the pine warblers and snow around the water is so pretty!

Oh so very lovely! I am thrilled He decided to sprinkle you with wonderland snow:)
Beautiful!!!
My brother lives in North Carolina (Bryson City). He called Saturday night to say he wasn't sure they'd make it over the mountains to be with us today (Monday)! Since I haven't heard back from him, I assume they made it! Snow in North Carolina! I could only imagine it until I saw our beautiful photos!
What an amazing view.
Snow makes everything beautiful, until it starts to thaw! We too had a white Christmas, no actual flakes on the day itself, but lots of white stuff still all around.
What a lovely view you have! Snow on Christmas made the day extra special this year.
Such gorgeous decorations and what a front porch view! A birdbath, a dock, American holly...your pictures are like a Currier and Ives postcard, Carla. What a beautiful world!
We just got Carson's CDs, Carla, and are listening to the songs right now! Her voice is so beautiful...she sounds so much like a famous singer I've heard! Thank you for such a pretty picture of her, too. Tell her thanks for the sweet note and that Swiss young people will be listening to her music in the shake of a lamb's tail. Our door is always open if any one of you would like to visit Switzerland... please do stay with us!
Oh, Carla, what beautiful views! I hope we'll have a white New Year's eve or any other day white, not green and wet!
I grew up a bit north of you (S.W. Virginia) and remember how we'd add "snow" to our Christmas prayers. Many times we had some--except the year we got sleds!! Now our prayers are for "not too much snow" so all can safely come home. We've had the third-snowiest December on record in the Chicago area.
Happy new year!
Best,
Bonnie

wonderful pictures.
I wish you a blessed year.

Hi Carla,
Your pictures are absolutely stunning. If I were a bird...yours would be my birdbath of choice with or without snow. Who could resist the view.
Enjoy and Happy New Year.
