On the news last night I heard the weatherman say that this was the warmest January in over seventy years. I believe it! Around here it looks like spring has sprung. Although I am perfectly content with the warmer winter, I sure hope that my plants will not suffer from the early blooming. These blooms do not usually show up until March.
hellebores
Yum, I smell Fruit Loops!
Nope, Chord, it's a winter daphne!
Daffodils already?
Blooms on my star magnolia???
Unfortunately, the pretty pink blooms are turning brown after a couple of days. :(
Well, it looks like winter has been cancelled in North Carolina this year. How is winter treating you in your neck of the woods?

No winter here in NJ either. I love the warmer temps but fear it will mess with all the plants once a cold front hits. Well, what can you do other than take what we're given. Enjoy!
I'm trying not to worry that a spell of winter will sneak up on us this month or next! I'm enjoying this mild weather. I have hyacinths and daffodils blooming and the hellebore is budding. I love that winter daphne!
Hi Carla! We had some snow for several days, and now it feels like spring. But, we can have snow as late as in March!
Your hellebore has such pretty color! And the cutest of all is your sweet dog!
Lovely so see the flowers and the little dog in action. We are having a very cold and wet summer. I sat by a fire all day today with rain and mist outside all day.
Happy to find your Blog today. So wonderful your pictures!
Warm January! We are having the coldest winter here in Rome instead, it's snowing and we are all surprised. You should see the mess...people stranded, cars stuck, trains blocked for hours with passengers freezing and angry, Italy just is not equipped to deal with a bit of snow or rain. I am following you!
Gorgeous hellebores! I wish I could grow daphnes. I bet they smell great! Stay busy with the girls (I know you will!).
Hello-
Popped over from "A Writer's... blog.

Chord is ADORABLE!
Come by Dreaming sometime.
Will be back.

Chord is darling. It's been warm here too, like almost everywhere. I'm glad it's been sunny so much this winter!
Here in Idaho, it has been a mild winter as well...at least according to the natives. For me, though---a Florida gal---it has still been cold. Thankfully, though, we haven't had any snow. I know "no snow" isn't good for the water table, but it makes this Florida girl happy.
Wishing you a lovely day,
Patti
Gorgeous, gorgeous flowers, Carla!
It has been a very mild winter so far. Very little snow & I do worry about the forest getting enough moisture. But there's still time for snow - last year we had snow on June 20th!
Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend!
Hugs,
Zuzu
Hi, Carla! Hope you are doing well! We have been having "spring" here, too, although the temps have dropped today - high in the 50's. I have a daffodil bloom, the Easter lilies have popped through the earth, and the grass is getting green from all the wonderful rain we've gotten. Like Ginny, I think more winter will come our way.
Lovely flowers and such a cute little dog.
Regards from Sweden

Beautiful pictures of the flowers. With Spring coming so soon, I wonder what summer will be like?
