Where Did the Summer Go?

This summer has gone by too quickly. Between getting Catie ready to go off to college and taking Carson to her singing gigs, there hasn't been much time for just relaxing. However, I'm not complaining. Spending these summer days enjoying my girls is exactly how I want it. I know that all too soon they will both be grown up and gone. I wish somebody had told me how fast time goes when they were babies. Maybe someone did, but I was too young to understand. Oh well, I must change the subject before I am in tears.

On a happier note, Catie is excited about going to college and Carson is excited about having two of her songs on Itunes. Both girls seem to know exactly what they want to do. Maybe I haven't made too many mistakes along the way. Thankfully, the ones I have made have been covered by an awesome God!

Carson has been working really hard on her music and is trying very hard to get some more followers on her music sites. If any of you have some free time and like country/pop music. Please check her out. I'm sure she would love it!

I hope each of you have had a summer filled with love and laughter! Remember to enjoy every moment.

I know what you mean about time slipping away too soon! Love that pic of Carson! I am going to go and check out her sites now. I can't wait to hear her! I don't think you have made any mistakes with your girls. They are both just lovely! Great job mom!

She sure does look sweet sitting among the flowers like that. I'm sighing alongside you, Carla, they grow up so fast!!

Such a sweet mom you are.

Carla, you and I are SO alike! With my kids now 19 and 21, I am flabbergasted at how quickly the years have flown. Sadly, I didn't appreciate the really young years...I was too busy wanting time for "me." Now, I try to encourage young moms to enjoy each day they have with their kids, because all too soon...much sooner than they are ready for it...they're kids will be grown up and they can have all the "me time" they want...only thing is, they probably won't want it anymore. They'll be longing for their kids to be little again.

I will definitely visit your daughter's music page. I am a huge country music fan. And since y'all are country fans and live in North Carolina, are you excited as all get-out that Scotty won American Idol this year. Love that guy!!!

I mailed your book yesterday. I had hoped to mail it Saturday, but as you know, I needed you to re-send your address, so I did't get it in the mail until yesterday. Hope it beautifies your day.

Love,
Patti

Richard and I listened to Carson. He says she has great range in her voice as well as good guitar skills. He thinks she's very talented. How old is she?

Your other "little girl" Catie, will be fine at Chapel Hill. It's a good university.

It is a blessing that both girls know what they want to do and have a love for something and a path in life. You did good!!

Your daughters seem so well grounded! You've done a great job as a mother. I agree that our children - and for me, grandchildren - grow up too fast. I'm trying to savor the days spent with my grands this week. Thank goodness for cameras!

You must be so proud of your two beautiful and talented daughters.

Praying all goes well for them at this exciting time in their lives, and for you too! I'm not at that stage yet - about 5 years to go before our eldest might be off to university - eeek!

You are a very Blessed Lady! Two beautiful young ladies that are on the right paths in life! Yes, time does not stand still and the girls will fly the coop one day. You can let them go, knowing you did your part as their mother and raised two wonderful people. And don’t worry; they will always know where home is....

Carson’s music is awesome! I am most impressed with the voice coming from a 13 year old! I hope she hits the big time some day. That is, if that is what she is after.... Oh, and I will be looking for a VIP backstage pass too. hee hee..

I saved up commenting until I had time to visit Carson's sites. What a wonderfully focused young lady. And isn't that photo lovely ... talks of a summer to remember.

I felt the same as you when daughter #1 left for App State. It was forever before I could even pass her room without a tear. As a fellow North Carolinian, and right here at your daughter's back door, she couldn't be in a better place. She will love it here and this will soon become a favorite place for you to come too. I'll check back with you. Debi
