Longing for Spring

I think the winter blahs have set in. You know what I am talking about...the time of year when one starts longing for spring...longing for signs of new life. It has actually set in a little earlier than usual around here. I think that it may be because our winter weather has been colder and started earlier this year. I don't know. What I do know, however, is that the bleakness of winter makes the joy of spring all the more sweet. Don't you think?

I am with you. I was longing for spring the day after Christmas! I am thinking that this weekend I need to get some planted spring flowers to infuse some life into the drab and dreary.

YOU bet, I am so tired of the cold, I get this fever usually in February. Your photo makes me long for spring. What an awesome photo.

Yes, I DO think so! The next few days it's supposed to get really, really cold here.

Yes, I think so, too! Won't it be great to work in the yard and watch for the first buds of spring?!

I was thinking the very same thing this morning as I sat in my car. The snow was falling around me in the silence, and rather than moan, I thought... "Think how much you will skip and laugh when spring comes!"

Hi, Was blog hopping and saw your blog title and it caught my eye. I enjoyed reading your blog. Your soup and cookies look wonderful. We got up to about 3 inches of snow this morning here in Kentucky. Like you, I am so ready for spring. Have a good weekend.

We had 2 days of "almost Spring" this week and now the cold has returned. To say I have the winter blahs would be an understatement!!!

I agree. Yesterday I was thinking of how I'm longing for warm breezes, tulips, salt air and all the blooming things of the upcoming season.

Well said! I had spring fever at Christmas but I've settled that down a bit over the past couple of weeks. I think it is the hint of spring in my home that keeps me going. Gorgeous photo! Have a blessed weekend!

Funny thing is I was expressing thoughts of looking foward to winter the other day ... though we had a lovely summer's day today.

I've been drooling over gardening catalogs and went to Barnes and Noble today to read some of the newest gardening books. I keep looking for signs of spring in the quince bushes, etc. Will January ever be over?

I do remember those days, Carla. Now however I get those feelings in the summer when I've had enough of the heat and humidity. I just traded one for the other. I guess I can't have everything.. or can I ;)

warm hugs,
Pam
