We are finally getting some much needed rain! It has been unusually hot and dry this fall here in North Carolina, so days like today are a welcome sight. The rain is also bringing in some cooler temperatures. I think our temperatures are supposed to stay in the fifties over the next few days.

It sounds like perfect weather for cleaning out some closets! What do you like to do on cool, rainy days???
Is that your own private lake, Carla? It's beautiful! We have so many rainy days in Switzerland that it is hard to say. I suppose that on rainy days I like to bake something yummy to eat. If the rain is pounding, rather than just drizzling, I like to walk outdoors in it and let myself get soaked through, and dance and twirl with my little girl as every good Swiss person announces our demise that will ultimately come from catching cold!
ReplyDeleteWe always laugh, and just keep twirling! xoxo
Not clean out closets!! :) We're getting a steady rain here too, perfectly for all of the new green transplants.
ReplyDeleteIt makes for a very serene scene, Carla. We have also been on the warm side but we are expecting cooler weather tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Pam
I'm glad you're getting rain, too! Rainy days make me want to curl up on the couch under a quilt and nap or read or watch a cooking show on TV! You can see that I'm not very productive on a rainy fall day! Oh, well . . . the rain has been wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIt was a cool, rainy day here, too. I would have loved to have had a day in the house to clean and organize.
ReplyDeleteFall always puts me in a cleaning mood! Before I went to work full-time I did my spring cleaning in the fall - getting the house ready for the holidays. I miss those days!
ReplyDeleteActually I'd prefer to curl up with a good book on a rainy day but----my closet looks as if a minor skirmish took place in it so.....! Could I have more time to think about it?
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
We have had much to many rainy days lately and a man at the station this morning told me they are expecting rain right into January. Enough we say, we want some warm weather ... summer is only 4 weeks away for us. I only feel like cleaning closets when it is warm ... so no spring cleaning this year. But I am glad you are getting weather that agrees with you.
ReplyDeleteI just like to snuggle inside all nice and warm and cozy watching the rain fall thanking God for just how lucky I am!! Have a great weekend Carla!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty photo!!!
ReplyDeleteI am currently living in Boise, Idaho...where it almost never rains from May through November. Then, during the cold months, the rain/snow mix comes in. SO...although I LOVE rain, I don't much enjoy it when it's cold outside. Therefore, I like to stay home, brew a pot of tea, and curl up under a nice warm blanket while I watch an old movie.
Hope you're having a lovely week.
Hugs,
Patti
We have had rain too, thank goodness. I would love to have a view like yours on a rainy day!
ReplyDeleteHow did the closet cleaning go Carla? Mine are OK but I do need to put away Summer clothes now that the days are so much cooler. Love waking to the cold mornings - we're trying to keep the heat off for a bit longer - have firewood coming this week, anxious to start having an evening fire in the hearth - I love Winter!!
ReplyDeleteHave fabulous week.
Hugs - Mary
what a gorgeous photo! i wish we had some of
ReplyDeleteyour lovely rain. we are SO dry that our trees
hardly turned the usual vivid colors. :(
number one favorite rainy day activity: curling
up with a book by a crackling fire.
Carla, such a gentle and calming photo... I love it. So pleased that you have some rain. We are wet, wet, wet and I'm about done taking care of tomatoes. Yay!
ReplyDeleteCarla,
ReplyDeleteI love to bake on days like this and bundle up with a warm cup of Tea and a book.
Pretty photo, Carla! I love to read on rainy days - I'm currently reading 'Wuthering Heights'. :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a lovely day,
Zuzu
