Yesterday brought us some refreshing rain! We had been hot and dry for so long that I thought this day would never come. We were sitting in church when it happened. The pastor was saying a prayer when we heard it...the rain pouring onto the tin roof of the sanctuary. Now, that is a sound that can only come from God! I think that I even heard some 'Praise the Lords' mixed in with the prayer and the rain. Today promises even more.
I thought that I would venture out this morning with my camera before the heavy rains come later on. I wanted to see if my thirsty plants enjoyed the showers of blessings. I believe that they did.
The knockout roses that had been languishing in the dry heat seemed to be singing a chorus.
The little pot of asparagus fern hummed along.
The writing spider listened intently to the concert.
It is amazing that the downpours didn't wash her away.
The loropetalum seemed to hold on to every drop that fell.
And every fall spider web appeared to be clothed in splendor.
The little mum seemed to jump for joy to finally have some cool, autumn temperatures!
Fall is finally here! "Praise God from whom all blessings flow."

Lucky lucky lucky you to get rain! We've not had any here and it is really very sad. I'm so happy you got some though! I saw it might stay on the east coast for a while too.
I love this song of praise you've written and illustrated! The sights and smells of God's creation after a refreshing shower are awesome! I can almost hear the raindrops on the tin roof! Beautiful description - and photos!
A wonderful post, Carla! Rain is truly from the Lord...rain on the earth, rain on the heart, rain in my hands. Great pictures but... I am so scared of spiders that I could hardly look at those two! :D I did love the web, though. xoxo
You take awesome photos!!! They are all totally lovely...even the spider!!
I live in a desert climate, where we average 11 inches of precip a year...and almost all of that is from November through April (mostly in the form of snow and/or sleet) The months from May through October are usually bone dry. So, I KNOW the feeling of longing for rain.
Have a lovely day,
Patti
All I can add is Praise Him all creatures here below!
Beautiful works of God's hand. Thanks so much for sharing.

Beautiful pictures; beautiful rain. Ours was supposed to come this afternoon -- now postponed till tomorrow. EVERYTHING in our yard is thirsty.
It is raining here now! Alleluia~

It's good to get that rain isn't it?! Otherwise the garden would just have to close up early.
Thanks goodness we finally got some much needed rain. It's been a long, hot, dry summer.
gorgeous photos, and i was imagining them all singing,
"hallelujah!" from handel!
isn't fall wonderful after the terrible, awful summer?
i pray for you EVERY night. how wonderful is blog
land?
It's so wonderful to have rain after dry times. Lovely photos of the joy of that downpour.
Sorry that I've been absent for awhile, but I thank you for the kind comments that you left for me.
We finally got rain, but I've not even walked through the garden since Charm isn't with me. I really need to get out there again, but I've almost lost all interest in it for now.
Rains from the heavens above are always a good thing, Carla. My gardens grow better with rain than with the water from a hose.
Beautiful photos. I could hear my gardens and the earth around me breathe a refreshing sigh of releif.
Yes, Rain is a good thing! Welcome Fall....
Great photos ~ I LOVE "Praise God from whom all blessings flow!" HOW TRUE!!
You are a great photographer!!
Oh Carla,
I pray to have more grace and joy as you do. Your words sing of your love for God, family and life. I always enjoy coming here. I hope that you are well, I'm in my 37th week of homeschooling. I love watching her learn. It's been a wonderful and challenging at the same time.
